Sports Rehab

When pain or injuries knock you out of the game, the staff at Trophy Club Physical Therapy is dedicated to getting you back to competition as quickly as possible. From professional athletes to weekend warriors, our staff is experienced in cutting edge treatments to speed rehab time and prevent future injuries. All our therapists are former high-school or college athletes who are still involved in sports at the playing or coaching level.

Back/Neck Program

Chronic postural and/or muscular imbalances are often the underlying cause of back and neck pain. With appropriate and timely intervention, these imbalances can be addressed, avoiding more costly and invasive treatments. The goal of this program is to work closely with referring physicians to provide customized treatment programs for patients with back and/or neck pain of musculoskeletal origin. The components of this program consists of one or more of the following: Patient education, posture correction, an individualized therapeutic exercise program, manual therapy, core stabilization, and modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, moist heat, and ice).

McKenzie Protocol

The McKenzie method is a philosophy of treatment that consists of repeated passive spine movements and/or sustained positions performed in specific directions that promote the transference of distal painful symptoms to a more proximal position in the spine. This is known as the “centralization” phenomenon. Since spine extension is the movement that centralizes the symptoms in the majority of patients, however, other motions may be used. Unfortunately, many practitioners make the faulty assumption that McKenzie means only extension exercises. At Trophy Club Physical Therapy, McKenzie techniques are utilized as part of our overall Back/Neck Program when deemed to be beneficial by the therapist.

Pre-habilitation (Pre-Surgery)

Beginning P.T. prior to your surgery can be beneficial for several reasons. We have found that patients who “pre-hab” their injuries have fewer complications and usually recover quicker than those who have no pre-op physical therapy. In addition, these patients begin their post-op rehab with the knowledge and confidence that they are in the skilled and caring hands of a P.T. provider who is familiar with their condition.

Post-operative Rehab

From spine surgery to total hip replacements, our therapists are experienced in providing the highest level of care following your surgery. We are familiar with most orthopedic, podiatric, and spine surgeons in the metroplex. Our therapists interact frequently with these physicians through regular communication as well as participation in clinical and surgical observations.

Hand Therapy

This program consists of rehabilitation following hand injury or surgery. Our therapists are experienced in treating most hand/wrist diagnoses. Please call our office if you wish to discuss you particular injury with a therapist.

Core/Functional Stabilization

The core muscles of our body are important no matter what the injury. These muscles serve to make our bodies strong and stable. Licensed physical therapists can guide you through a program to increase your core stability and improve your pain and function.

Industrial Rehab

We provide a full range of industrial rehabilitation including post-injury physical therapy, Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE), work conditioning, and work hardening. Our industrial rehab team consists of physical therapists, a physician, and clinical psychologist (Ph.D.).
